Tidal Town Moving was founded by longtime friends and moving industry veterans Rooke Crouch and Josh Wright. Their experience in the industry goes back to 2015, when both started as movers with Tiger Moving in Greenville, SC and worked their way up into management. Under their leadership, Tiger Moving earned back-to-back Best of the Upstate awards from the Greenville News.

Today, they bring that same commitment to Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and the greater Hampton Roads area, helping families move with confidence and care.

Meet the Team

Rooke Crouch – Co-Owner & Managing Partner
 I was born and raised in Greenville, SC, and earned my Bachelor’s in Management from Clemson University. My wife Lauren and I are proud dog lovers, raising two Great Danes, Samwell and Khaleesi. My first experience in the moving industry came during college, and it quickly became a lifelong passion. Tidal Town Moving reflects our values: hard work, honesty, and treating every customer like family.

Josh Wright – Co-Owner & Managing Partner
 Originally from Asheville, NC, I moved to Richmond, VA at age 7 and have strong ties throughout Virginia. After earning my Bachelor’s in Sport Management from Erskine College and an MBA from Clemson University, I joined the moving industry alongside Rooke. Together, we’ve built a company focused on professionalism, precision, and personal service.

Avery Crouch – Operations Manager
 Also a Greenville native, Avery brings a natural gift for communication and a genuine love for helping people. His leadership ensures every residential move is handled with care and attention to detail.

How We Handle Your Home Move

We understand that handing over your home and everything in it requires a lot of trust. Here’s how we approach every residential move:

Transparent Pricing from the Start – Our hourly rate starts when we arrive at your home and stops when the last item is placed in your new one. There are no travel time fees charged within Hampton Roads. A 2-hour minimum applies. Before we show up, you’ll have a clear understanding of how we charge.

Proactive Communication – You’ll receive confirmation and follow-up emails covering your move date, time, and post-move satisfaction. We also call you when our team is on the way, so you’re never left guessing.

Proper Care for Your Belongings – Furniture is shrink-wrapped and padded before loading. Your dressers don’t need to be emptied beforehand. Drawers are wrapped and protected in transit so clothing stays in place and nothing shifts.

Flexible Scheduling – We work seven days a week, including weekends. If your move date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, we’re available.
